BUZZ–TED, an eco conscious art exhibition centered on honey bees, is not to be missed at the Almenkerk Wine Estate. Simply gorgeous pieces that take one’s breath away. Curated by Alex Hamilton, the exhibition focuses our attention on these amazing creatures, each piece captivating – both in the gallery and outdoors through the Estate. Previewing more than this exquisite piece by Christiaan Diedericks would be tantamount to a spoiler.
Walk this indoor-outdoor pop-up exhibition – and then why not pre-order a picnic from Terra Madre or bring your own (they provide crockery and cutlery and ask that you sample their wine only – which is delicious) and enjoy the gardens and view for R30, which will be donated to the bees. There is a kids play area too!
Make a day of it over this October and explore the valley as it opens its doors in celebration of our honey bees and the beauty of their apple blossoms springing to life. It’s Elgin Apple Blossom Festival time – a bee-centric affair with proceeds from bee-centric events going to The Bee Effect to support our program of bee food diversity development.
