Diversity of Honey bees

“The diversity of honeybees in the SWIO Islands constitutes a unique heritage that deserves special attention” this according to Dr. Maéva Techer, who did a Ph.D. in Population Genetics and Ecology with the University of La Réunion – focusing her research on the genetic diversity and structure of honeybee populations from several islands located in the South West Indian Ocean.  An interesting study in how honey bees come to find themselves on these islands.  Read More…
