Network of African Science Academies, led by the Academy of Science of South Africa, brought together experts to review over 200 studies from 28 African countries, with a final report indicating that SA and the rest of African countries covered are actively contributing to the decline in honey bee numbers with farming methodology that outdates current research informing bans of these neonicotinoids in the EU. The report goes further identifying key messages for policy makers to make African agriculture more sustainable.
