Where Bees and Biodiversity Thrive

Pabala Private Nature Reserve in the Eastern Cape near the Garden Route, has committed its 1,800 hectares, to the haven program, reinforcing their dedication to conservation and keeping a thriving environment for honey bees.

The reserve integrates natural beekeeping practices that support the long-term health of the 250 bee colonies resident on the land. Through carefully managed hives and ethical honey harvesting, it ensures that bees can thrive while educating visitors on their critical role in ecosystems.

Education through Immersive Hive Experiences

Guided by knowledgeable beekeepers, visitors can enjoy immersive bee experiences that provide a rare opportunity to step inside the world of honey bees.

1,800 Hectares Committed to Conservation

Beyond beekeeping, Pabala is passionate about education. The reserve actively engages with local farmers and youth, sharing knowledge about the importance of pollinators and how to protect them. These efforts contribute to a broader movement of bee conservation within the region.

By supporting our havens consumers contribute to the preservation of honey bees and the habitats they rely on.

Pabala’s conservation-first approach aligns with The Bee Effect’s mission to protect and sustain healthy pollinator populations now and for the future.
